Our story begins with two of my favorite things- friends and yoga. Greg Foster's "Happier Hour" yoga class on Friday evenings has always been the best way to wind down the week. One time in particular, a couple of years ago, I decided to bother the quiet and nice guy that always puts his mat in the back of the room. I soon found out that he was definitely NOT quiet and in fact was full of the fun Sam stories we all know and love. Our shared appreciation of mosquito spray that contains DEET was apparently what demonstrated to Sam that I wasn't completely a hippie, and it was the start of a beautiful friendship. Our years together have only deepened that friendship and love through the highs and lows of life. We adore the adventure of travel and new experiences, but the best times are the moments spent with our precious Potluck family and chilling at home. Our story is just beginning, and I am so excited about the days and decades ahead with my best friend and love.
-Jenn
Jenn and I have shared many laughs about our "first" meeting. Sitting on the patio of her favorite drinking hole, after many shared words, I decided to go out on a limb and ask if she wanted some bug spray... she said Heckin Ya, but felt the need to warn her it had DEET in it (granola yoga teacher test). Her response, and my preparedness, set the stage for us today.
Jenn had been a teacher at the yoga studio where we met for a while and I had noticed her a few times, to say the least. However, her stunning beauty kept me at arms length and her reputation as a rough teacher kept me more at arms length. Mother had frequented yoga with me for a few seasons and decided to go to Jenn's class one night I skipped out. I had so many questions. I was so pleased to see her at Greg's class where it was less intimidating and followed by a little fun. The conversation and sparks flew nearly instantly!
Jenn is an amazing person. She has captivated my heart and soul through her nurturing, caring, and selfless spirit. Our days have been long with laughter, short with heartache, and supportive of each other in a renewed life. Mack absolutely adores Jenn and they have the cutest relationship that will melt your heart. As we live and grow with each other, there is no doubt that God sent her to be my better half. One of the best perks of living in Lubbock was the group of friends that came with my house purchase a few years back. We have seen each other through many triumphs and griefs, but always know that if anything is needed our support group is there.
We thank each and everyone who is a part of our lives that we love so dearly. The challenges faced in this life are never more than we can handle and patience/trust is hard to keep in the midst of strife. Our lives together have been a blessing and I can't wait to see how enriched our lives will be in the future.
